Delegate Sheila Hixson (D-20), Chair of the House Ways and Means Committee, and Delegate Brian Feldman (D-15), Chair of the Montgomery County House Delegation, have endorsed Hans Riemer in the council at-large race. They join Senator Jamie Raskin (D-20) and Delegates Bill Frick (D-16), Tom Hucker (D-20), Heather Mizeur (D-20), Karen Montgomery (D-14) and Kirill Reznik (D-39) in supporting Riemer. Following is Riemer’s blast email announcing the new endorsements.

54 days to go!‏

Ever since the Washington Post endorsed me last week, my campaign has burst forward. Please donate now to help us keep our momentum going: http://www.hansriemer.com/donate

There are now 54 days before the Tuesday, September 14th Democratic Primary, so I wanted to give a quick campaign update to my friends, family, and Montgomery County’s most active residents.

The most exciting development is that our grassroots organizing effort is buzzing, thanks to the dozens of volunteers and interns knocking on doors and calling voters every day. At the end of the day, personal outreach is always worth more than any glossy mailer or TV ad. We’ll be meeting to knock doors at noon at our office in Wheaton (11262 Georgia Ave, 2nd Floor) this Saturday and Sunday. Email Sarah Wolf if you would like to join us: sarah@hansriemer.com.

I also wanted to let you know…

Delegates Sheila Hixson and Brian Feldman — key leaders in the Maryland House — have endorsed my campaign for the County Council.

Delegate Hixson, who represents Silver Spring and Takoma Park, is one of the strongest voices for Montgomery County in the State House. She chairs the Ways & Means Committee – giving her tremendous influence over taxes, schools, and transportation.

Delegate Feldman is the Chair of Montgomery County’s State House delegation. He said, “In tough times, we need leaders who can put politics aside and work together for Montgomery County. That’s why I’m proud to support Hans Riemer.”

These Democratic leaders join a broad and growing list of endorsers. I am especially excited about my support from Montgomery County’s state legislators, because the challenges facing all of us are too great to tackle alone. As a member of the County Council, I promise to reach out to our state leaders early and often, so that we can speak with one voice to make sure Montgomery County’s priorities are funded — schools, jobs and investment, and services for our most vulnerable residents.

Since I last contacted you, we’ve also received the endorsement of state and national progressives from Progressive Maryland and the 21st Century Democrats, young activists from the Montgomery County Youth Slate, and the thousands of working families represented by the AFL-CIO Metro Council.

Please donate now to help us keep our momentum going: http://www.hansriemer.com/donate

See you soon!

Hans

P.S. As we head to the home stretch of the campaign, I’m also making a mad dash to meet as many voters as possible. To kick off this effort, I’ve released a new web video to promote a series of house parties and events I’m hosting around the County: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPbCU3A-Gd8 You can also see my new event schedule at: http://www.hansriemer.com/events
