WHEATON, MD – Delegate Kathleen Dumais, Democrat from District 15, endorsed Hans Riemer today for Montgomery County Council At Large. “Hans Riemer is a progressive champion with a real talent for bringing people together,” Dumais said. “I’m looking forward to working closely with him over the next four years to secure our schools, our economy and our future.”

Delegate Dumais is the eighth member of Montgomery County’s state delegation to support Hans, joining Senator Jamie Raskin and Delegates Brian Feldman, Bill Frick, Sheila Hixson, Tom Hucker, Karen Montgomery and Kirill Reznik along with Councilmembers Valerie Ervin and Nancy Navarro, the Washington Post, Sierra Club, the Montgomery County Education Association and many others.

“I’m very excited to have the support of Del. Dumais and so many community leaders at every level,” Riemer said. “As budgets get tighter on the federal, state and county level it is going to be critical that we all work together to protect our schools, create jobs and keep us safe.”

A veteran of President Obama’s national campaign staff, Hans Riemer has spent the last two years working on pension reform and community engagement at AARP while advocating for protecting Metro and Ride On and building the Purple Line here in Montgomery County. Hans and his wife Angela live in Silver Spring with their three year old son Henry.
