Republican County Executive candidate Reardon “Sully” Sullivan has sent out a blast email castigating “local bloggers and pundits” for “saying that I cannot be elected as County Executive.”  Hey Sully, can you at least link to my column in which I discussed the campaign finances of local GOP candidates?  Having just left David Blair’s county executive campaign, which unsuccessfully spent millions (in addition to a Super PAC) to unseat incumbent Marc Elrich, I am skeptical that Sullivan can pull that off with less than $100,000.  I am even further skeptical that he can pull it off running as the nominee of the Party of Trump.

But hey, if Sullivan wins, I would have TONS of great stuff to write about for the next four years.  So good luck to you, Sully!

We reprint his blast email below.

Let’s Prove Them Wrong!!!

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!

Let’s bring common sense back to Montgomery County!!!

The local bloggers and pundits are saying that I cannot be elected as County Executive… well they are WRONG!!!

Our grass roots volunteers covering Montgomery County’s early voting sites are hearing the real story. Republican, Democrat, and Independent voters alike are hearing my clear, common-sense message of increasing public safety, improving our schools, and bringing businesses back to the County. Voters are voting for change. Voters across party lines are voting for change.

I have not sought donations or support from special interest groups. I do NOT want to be beholden to anyone except the good people of Montgomery County.

My opponent, and failed County Executive Marc Elrich is financing his reelection campaign largely with your tax dollars through the County’s public election fund, and relies on the resources of the County for political outreach.

Unless you want another four years of Marc Elrich’s policies of school shut downs, declining test scores, rising crime and forcing small businesses and places of worship to stay closed while big corporate big box stores stayed open, I need your help to get the message out on radio and social media to the voters that have not yet heard my message.

I need your support NOW more than ever in this closing week. Please donate whatever you can, TODAY, to help me bring common sense back to Montgomery County.

Thank you in advance for your support.
