Friend,

As I reflect on the journey we’ve shared together since last summer, I’m filled with gratitude for each and every one of you who has stood by my side on this campaign. It has been an incredible privilege to connect with you, to share ideas, and to engage in meaningful dialogue about the future of our country.

A lot has happened since we started this campaign. We’ve watched Donald Trump try to turn our country into a theocracy. We’ve seen a horrific terrorist attack against Israel and ongoing Palestinian suffering since October 7th. And we’ve seen a rise in antisemitism here at home on a level I’ve never seen before.

However, after much consideration, I’ve made the difficult decision to suspend my campaign for Congress. Now is the time to back a strong Democrat who can hold this seat in what will be one of the most competitive races in the country – a must win for Democrats to take back the House. And that’s why I’m also proud to announce my endorsement of April McClain Delaney for this seat.

I’m confident that April will take on the hard issues and fight for us all. April has the vision, values, and integrity that we need right now. And crucially, it’s imperative that we Democrats unify behind her to ensure that we keep the seat blue in the face of what will be an aggressive attempt by Republicans to get a MAGA candidate into office. Make no mistake, this seat is a national target for Republicans. April is the one who will best ensure that we keep it blue.

Our Congressional delegation needs a voice like hers – one that stands up to hate and antisemitism, that advances a smart national security policy, and that advocates tirelessly for women. And with zero women currently representing Maryland in Congress – a travesty! – let’s make sure that April gets to Congress to provide that voice.

In closing, running for office has been empowering, enabling me to share ideas and engage with Marylanders about our country’s future. You have made this possible. So thank you a thousand times over for being a core part of this incredible journey. And while this may be goodbye for now, I promise that I won’t be going too far. Together, let’s keep fighting for a better future for Maryland and all of America.
