It’s an interesting question, yeah? Do you trust the police department? Well, guess, who wants to know the answer to that?
The police department.
The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has launched its annual community trust survey, which is required by Bill 45-20. That legislation, authored by Council Members Will Jawando, Sidney Katz, Tom Hucker and Gabe Albornoz, was passed unanimously in 2021 and requires regular collection and public reporting of various kinds of policing data. You can read the text of the bill here.
So go ahead, tell the police department what you think of them. MCPD’s press release, which contains a link to their survey, is reprinted below.

2025 MCPD Annual Community Trust Survey
For Immediate Release: Wednesday, October 1, 2025
The Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) is asking residents to participate in an annual anonymous survey regarding police-community relations, including the levels of trust communities have in the police.
The results of the surveys, along with the statistical data, will be published in the Police Statistical Data Report in early 2026.
MCPD invites residents to share input to help the department better serve the community.
The survey only takes 1-2 minutes to complete. The survey opens October 1 and continues through October 15.
Access the Community Feedback Form through the department’s social media pages or by using the link below.
