District 14 House candidate Matt Post, who has earned the Apple Ballot and reported a staggering fundraising haul last month, has joined the District 14 slate containing Senator Craig Zucker and Delegates Anne Kaiser and Bernice Mireku-North. Those three events make Post a strong favorite to join his slate mates in Annapolis.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD. (Friday, February 27, 2026) –Today, State Senator Craig J. Zucker, Delegate Anne Kaiser, and Delegate Bernice Mireku-North officially welcome Delegate candidate Matt Post as part of the new District 14 Team.
“Matt grew up in District 14 and knows our community well. He has impressed us with his campaign and years of civic involvement. His growing list of endorsements, from educators to community leaders show strong support within our district. He brings an important perspective and will be a great teammate,” said Senator Zucker, Delegates Kaiser, and Mireku- North.
Matt Post stated, “I’ve seen firsthand what the District 14 team’s tireless work has meant for our schools, neighborhoods, and local economy, and I’ve long looked up to their leadership. I’m honored to join them on this team and continue the work we’ve done together for the people of District 14.”
The team will campaign together to ensure their success in the upcoming election. They are focused on affordability for our residents, lowering energy bills, growing the economy, and protecting the State of Maryland against the recklessness of the Trump Administration.
Former County Executive Ike Leggett announced his endorsement of the team: “As a proud resident of District 14, I join Senator Zucker, Delegate Kaiser, and Delegate Mireku-North in welcoming Matt to the District 14 Team. This team has my enthusiastic support for the upcoming election. Their record of delivering for our community is exceptional, and Matt will be a great addition.”
Senator Zucker was first elected to the House of Delegates in 2010 and has been a member of the Senate for seven years. He serves on the Budget and Taxation Committee, chairing the powerful Capital Budget Subcommittee, a key role in which he directs essential funding to important projects throughout the area. Senator Zucker lives in Brookeville, with his wife Jenny, their two sons, and their dog Olivia.
The dean of the delegation, Delegate Kaiser was first elected to the House of Delegates in 2002. She serves as Vice-Chair of the House Appropriations Committee and brings expertise and passion to legislative issues and the Maryland State budget around public safety, education, and government operations. Delegate Kaiser lives with her wife, Nancy, and their daughter Allison Joan “AJ” in Brookeville.
Delegate Mireku-North, was appointed to the House of Delegates in 2023. Hitting the ground running, as a member of the House Ways & Means Committee, she chairs the Child Care Subcommittee. She brings her lived experiences as a daughter of African immigrants and her distinctive legal background as a former prosecutor and current practicing attorney to advance our shared values. Delegate Mireku-North resides in the Fairland area of Silver Spring with her husband Terrill and daughter Adjoa.
Matt Post, a labor attorney, former student school board member, and gun violence prevention activist— is running for the House of Delegates to represent the community that raised him. Currently, Matt serves as Assistant Counsel for the Maryland State Education Association, fighting for the pay and dignity of public educators. He is a graduate of District 14’s Sherwood High School, Yale College, and Yale Law School. Matt lives in Colesville.
