Minutes ago, the Board of Education released a statement on a sexual harassment report prepared by its contracted law firm, Jackson Lewis PC. While the board has seen the report, they have not yet released it to the public. Their statement, which was posted on Twitter, is reprinted below.

Today, the Board received an extensive report from Jackson Lewis on the first phase of the investigation into the promotion of Joel Beidleman. We are carefully reviewing the findings of that report. The report raises significant concerns about the vetting and promotion of personnel within MCPS, and the Board is committed to addressing those concerns.
Now that the first phase of the investigation has concluded, we will consult with the Montgomery County Inspector General and the Maryland Inspector General for Education. As independent agencies, they are charged with determining which investigations they undertake, when they begin those investigations, and the scope of those investigations.
We are committed to a transparent, thorough and expeditious process and to building a stronger, better school system.
