Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge 35, which represents county police officers, has endorsed a group of non-incumbent county council candidates in this year’s election. I imagine that the FOP is waiting for the council’s upcoming decision on funding its collective bargaining agreement before endorsing any incumbents, including the three council members running for county executive. Until that time comes, the FOP is endorsing:
Council At-Large: Scott Goldberg, Jim McNulty, Karla Silvestre
Council District 1: Julie Yang
Council District 3: Jud Ashman
The FOP has previously endorsed challenger Will Milam for sheriff.
