If you’re interested in federal affordable housing programs, fair housing laws, housing market conditions or federal regulation of mortgage institutions like Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac, you might wish to visit the website of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). But if you do that this morning, here is what you will find.
Looming over this naked taxpayer-financed political propaganda is an impending federal shutdown that could badly damage Maryland’s economy even after our state has led the nation in lost federal jobs. On top of that, MoCo has been more damaged by federal cuts than most other jurisdictions in the D.C. region.
But that’s no concern to Trump and his minions, who have now totally politicized HUD. And if you’re a federal employee, I bet you are wondering if your agency is next.
