Reardon “Sully” Sullivan, organizer of a ballot question effort to reduce county executive term limits from three terms to two, dropped off a batch of nearly 8,000 signatures for his charter amendment today. A week ago, the county’s Board of Elections found that Sullivan had already submitted 9,374 valid signatures from voters, just short of the 10,000 required to make the ballot.
County Executive Marc Elrich, who is now in his second term, is quite unhappy about this term limits drive since it would eject him from office. Unless the county council attempts to save him – and I will have news about that coming soon – Elrich’s days on the second floor could be numbered.
Sullivan forwarded the two pictures below showing his latest appearance at the county executive office building.
