The condition of the schools was arguably the top story of 2023 and certainly of the last five months or so. (Only the controversy surrounding CASA rivaled it.) That tees up this year’s school board races. One of the two at-large seats as well as the seats in districts 2 and 4 are on the ballot this year. The filing deadline is 9 PM on Friday. Candidates have already begun to file, including two incumbents – Lynne Harris (At-Large) and Rebecca Smondrowski (District 2). Recent events have hammered home the importance of having a strong board and we will continue to follow that story.
On to February!
