By Adam Pagnucco.

With early vote counted and a large majority of election day precincts reporting, here are preliminary tallies for a handful of MoCo and Maryland races.

U.S. Senate

1870 of 1958 election day precincts reported

Angela Alsobrooks: 51.9%

Larry Hogan: 45.5%

Hogan has conceded the race.

Congressional District 6

211 of 214 election day precincts reported

Neil Parrott: 50.1%

April McClain Delaney: 49.7%

Delaney has a huge lead in mail ballots and there are many more of them to be counted.  I will have more to say about this race soon.

MoCo School Board At-Large

252 of 257 election day precincts reported

Rita Montoya: 53.2%

Lynne Harris: 45.8%

This race is interesting because Harris has a slight lead in mail ballots.  Again, I will have more to say about this race.

MoCo School Board District 2

252 of 257 election day precincts reported

Natalie Zimmerman: 55.1%

Brenda Diaz: 44.3%

MoCo School Board District 4

252 of 257 election day precincts reported

Laura Stewart: 57.5%

Shebra Evans: 41.5%

Question A (Term Limits for County Executive

252 of 257 election day precincts reported

For: 67.9%

Against: 32.1%

Let’s emphasize this: these tallies are all preliminary.  There are lots of ballots remaining to be counted, particularly mail and provisional.  In close races, the remaining ballots could determine the outcomes.  I will be back soon with some estimates on how different the outstanding ballots would have to be from those already counted to change any close tallies shown above.
